My Brother James: A Living Faith Sermon
“But be doers of the word and not merely hearers who deceive themselves. For if any are hearers of the word and not doers, they are like those who look at themselves in a mirror; for they look at themselves and, on going away, immediately forget what they were like.” -James 1:22-24
Practical Christianity is a term used to describe a focus on how to apply our faith in our actions and practices each day. A practical Christianity, a living faith, seeks to live each day in ways that love thy neighbor in the image of Christ. The book of James, historically ascribed to the brother of Jesus, reads like a manual for Christians trying to act out a practical faith. In our new sermon series, “My Brother James”, we will explore what it means to live out our faith in Christ.
