In-Person Worship Services

2021 Update

Starting on May 16th, our outdoor worship time is 9 AM and our indoor & online service is at 11 AM. Registration is NO LONGER required.

In addition to our ongoing 11 AM online service, we are pleased to offer two in-person worship options.  We offer a service in our sanctuary and an outdoor Sunday worship service using the church parking lot.  Parking is available for the 11AM service in our lot but street parking and use of the Melwood parking lot are encouraged for attendees of our 9 AM service.

How can I attend?

Registration Update

Previously, we were requiring everyone to register either online or in-person at the entrance of the church. In consideration with the recent CDC updates, we are no longer requiring people to register in order to attend worship. We invite you to join us for either the 9 AM outdoor or 11 AM indoor services.

Nursery and Childcare.   We are pleased to offer both a nursery and children’s Sunday school during worship.  Parents may drop off their child at the entrance to the children’s ministry area (located by the staircase in our parking lot).  If parents wish to worship with their children they are welcomed to do so.  Lastly, children may leave worship, with the Family Ministry Director, following the Children’s Moment.  All children must be picked up at the preschool (Calvary Children’s School) entrance which is located by the staircase in our parking lot.

Please allow extra time to arrive.  Since the parking lot is closed to vehicles, please park at Melwood (750 23rd St S, Arlington, VA 22202), or on the street. We also welcome walk-ups and have a bike rack for bicycle riders. If you are coming as a family, plan to arrive together. Chairs are provided for every attendee.

Space will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Upon check-in, you will be directed by the ushers to an open space. Though there is ample walking room between the spaces, we want to minimize passing each other.

Comfortable attire is encouraged outdoor. Feel free to bring water, coffee, blankets, or other personal belongings to help assure your warmth. Bathrooms will not be available, except in the event of an emergency.

Incase of inclement weather… The outdoor service will be moved into the sanctuary if it is raining – we will notify the church as early as possible.

Safety for june 2021

Masks are optional for everyone who is vaccinated. However, we ask everyone aged 3 and up who are not vaccinated to wear masks for the indoor service for the safety and protection of others.

Seating will be spaced out for physical distancing – we will sit together in pods/families, with at least 6 feet between each unit.

High touch surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized frequently.  We also have HEPA air purifiers in each worship space (sanctuary, balcony, and narthex) in addition to HEPA filters in our HVAC system.

Holy Communion will be offered weekly at our outdoor service and on the first Sunday of the month inside.  The officiants will be masked as the congregation comes forward to receive their pre-filled communion sets.  For those not comfortable coming forward communion elements will be available at the exits.
